Razer Lycosa
For Gamers. By Gamers. Razerâ„¢
The Razer Lycosa is a top of the line gaming keyboard. I bought this keyboard last year and it has given me no trouble.
Hearing different reviews of people saying that they like it, or they hate it, made me feel uneasy buying this keyboard but I am glad I did.
Appearance
For starters, the keyboard is a looker. You cannot deny the beauty of this keyboard. It's sleek, glossy, and shiny.
It is all black, including the letters on the keys. It's very hard to see the letters without the led light turned on.
The Led's are blue, a very common color of today's gaming community. The Led's cannot be changed to another color.
The hand rest features a Razer logo, and again on the touchscreen panel in the top right corner of the keyboard.
Features
The Razer Lycosa features an overall high quality keyboard. One of my favorite features is the rubber coated keys.
These rubber coated keys help to keep your fingers from slipping off the keyboard during gaming.
On the Lycosa is a touch panel, a media center. It features a led button, a volume down button, a volume up button, a stop button, a pause/play button, a fast-forward button and a rewind button.
Also on the center of the touch panel media center, is a Razer logo. If you hold that button for three seconds, then press the windows key, the windows key will be deactivated so you don't accidentally hit that pesky key in games.
The Lycosa has an integrated USB port, and an earphone-out and microphone-in jack. These only work when you plug in the corresponding cords on the usb end of the Lycosa.
Another great feature is EVERY single key on the Lycosa is programmable. You can turn any key into any macro, using Razer's software that
is included in the box.
A more obvious feature is the back-lit keys. When the LED key is tapped once, the WASD cluster on your left side of the keyboard lights up,
designed for FPS gamers. When tapped twice, or again, the whole keyboard is illuminated.
The wrist rest is also detachable, via a small-medium sized phillips head screwdriver.
The Lycosa also features 1000HZ ultrapolling.
Endurance
Over the past year, the Lycosa has been working great.
The rubber coated keys are known to wear down, and indeed they do, but just a little bit. It's obvious that they are still coated in rubber.
The LED's on the Lycosa surprised me. They are still running great. I thought that a few might have died out, after countless hours of being turned on constantly. Nope, they are 100% quality LED's.
Overall
This keyboard is a fantastic keyboard that I would recommend to anybody. It fits all of my gaming needs, and it looks great.
The features are suburb and the quality and endurance of this keyboard is second to none.
Appearance = 9/10 (Would be ten if it was green or red led's or came available in those colors)
Features = 9/10 (This keyboard has every feature I could ask for, except multiple LED colors.)
Endurance = 9/10 (Would be ten except for the rubber coating issue. Not a big deal though!)
Overall = 9/10
Thanks for reading my review on the Razer Lycosa.
