All benches I've seen they've been nearly equal. one title Nvidia and another AMD... + the 590 is quieter Tho I'd rather get a 6990 then 590 since then i can put it in my amd system

The funny thing is, as soon as I read the title I knew who had started the thread. Nvidia hasn't even released drivers for the 590 yet, and it's quieter and cheaper than the 6990. We'll have to wait and see about microstutter, but from the 6990 Unigine Heaven runs I've seen, it's pretty obvious that AMD hasn't fixed their gpu sync issues. If you're going to point out a failure, make sure it holds water. No one likes fanboys.

well seeing as how all of the benches I've seen show the 6990 beating the 590 in most benches pretty handily AND it runs cooler (albeit louder which is not as big a deal) plus the fact that its cheaper tells me that Nvidia failed to live up to their expectations of the 590. remember how they said it would take the dual gpu crown? yeah obviously not. nvidia always has better drivers than amd and yet here we are. also the 6990 has only been out a week so I wouldn't say its been available for a while

I kinda agree with "jarlmaster47", the Benchmarks stand for what they are, both the companies can release the drivers when they want, but the reviews that come out as soon as a product releases are the one's which the whole world see's, that's where its decided who's the winner, so i say no point in saying GTX 590 or HD 6990 will perform better when the new drivers release, besides do you really think guys, that a Card 1st comes to the market n then the Drivers come, NO, its always the other way round
