But when I try and fraps my fps takes a huge hit, or I need to play at a shitty quality. So I wanted to know If I grabbed an HDPVR I could just record from one of my hdmi outs and get a duplicate signal of the middle screen. Would that work?

Record to any hard drive EXCEPT C: drive, that usually helps a lot with performance.

I do, my C: is a spanky new ssd, I record onto my old disk. The problem is I drop from 75 to about 20 fps

Gotta love Fraps. Maybe cut down the FPS and go to half size in Fraps? Youll see less quality, but youll pick up some performance.

just trying to record a high res is a challenge. how much RAM do you have?

Also have 8 gig of ram.

If the game is on your old disk that would probably cause the problem.The game is trying to get it's resources from the disk while fraps is writing on it.

No No, the only reason I keep the old disk in there is to keep movies, music and fraps to. Game is on new SSD
