Hi all, I have a few questions regarding Windows Vista Home Premium and backup software.

From my understanding, Windows Vista Home Premium does not come with windows backup and restore center. If this truly is the case, what sort of backup software would any of you recommend to backup:

(This is for a friend of mine's dad who owns a business and needs to backup his system files and other files/data pertinent to his business.)

-Windows system files
-Photos, folders, important documents, etc

This will be done on an external hard drive. Furthermore, it would be ideal if the software would have the feature to backup files automatically on a specified schedule.

Free software is also good too.

Thanks in advance, and please post all of your insight into this situation, etc!

Edit: I am reading more about Windows Vista Home Premium and backups and it appears that Home Premium allows users to backup files, but not create a system image, referred to as a "Complete PC Backup".

Edit 2: He has decided to go with a WD My Book Essential 1TB external HDD for his backup needs (influenced by myself). I see that WD has backup software called "WDSmartWare". I've been looking at the software, and it looks it may suffice for his needs, but, unfortunately, a system image backup is not possible, to my knowledge with WDSmartWare. Has anyone had any experience, heard anything terrible, heard anything "awesome" about WDSmartWare that I should be aware of?

Edit 3: :P Anyways, after looking into WD SmartWare more, it looks as if it may be a good fit for my "client", as he is not the most PC-savvy individual. It allows for a simple backup of a user's files and updates the backups automatically as files are periodically changed and added. It seems to be pretty much idiot-proof, which is what I think would be best for the "client". What is more, the password protection and 256 bit encryption is a nice little bonus. Although, we won't be able to create and maintain a system image going this route, it is still satisfying to my "client", as the system image was my idea.

New revised question: Supplementary software for creation and maintenance of a system image

Now I am going to do some research on standalone system image software that updates the system image backup on a schedule. This would be used in addition to WD SmartWare. Any knowledge, recommendation, or experience in this area would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again, sorry I keep updating my post! :)
