Hey guys, must start with an apology for the wall of post.

I've decided that having 3x30"s with only one running is going to make me slit my wrists.

SO, I'm giving it one last try to get them going, or I'll sell the Samsungs and buy two more U3011s (this is NOT the preffered option).

In case you haven't seen it before, this is a quick rundown on what has been happening.

************************************************************************************************************************************

3 x 30" monitors, 1 x Dell U3011, 2 x Samsung 305t

As you may have guessed, it's that part of my specs causing the problem.

I can enable display across all three monitors at 7680X1600 using DVI-D throughout, or I can enable SLI, but I can't enable SLI at 7680X1600.

When I try, I get this message about resolution, sync rate and polarity having to match.

************************************************************************************************************************************

Now, I've been doing some checking and from the manufacturers info I've pulled the following-

RESOLUTION:
U3011 - 2560x1600
305t - 2560x1600

POLARITY:
U3011 - +/-
305t - +/-

REFRESH RATE:
U3011 - 60hz
305t - 59.972hz

Links to back up numbers
U3011 - http://cni.stanford.edu/cniwiki/images/ ... ung305.pdf
305t - http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/m ... /about.htm

So from what I can tell, the only thing stopping me is the refresh rate. I've read a little about using custom .inf or .edid to force the settings to match, but can't find a tutorial that I understand.

Does anyone here have any experience with this sort of thing? Or can think of something for me to read? Or who has a neighbour who might know somebody that knows something?

Getting desperate here.

You can create a custom resolution with the refresh rate here

Will check.

I just unplugged the samsungs to get more desk space for work, setting it up again will take a little while.

Didn't think anyone would be this fast, should've known better.

I was just setting up the samsungs on the opposite side of the room when I hear this sharp "PSSSCCCCCCCHHHHHH" sound, like a giant bottle of coke being opened. Look over and there is water literally pouring down the front of my case. Cue quick leap across room and flick PSU switch.

As far as I can see the components didn't get wet but this is a warning that will not be ignored.

Clearly something got pressurised beyond it's ability to cope with, damned if I can find what but I'm starting again.

Rig will be left to dry until at least Wednesday, then totally stripped down. I'm in the process of ordering a different case as I think the way it was set up was part of the problem. Unfortunately it won't be exactly what I was after, but needs must.

Thanks for the help so far Liquid, I'll be back to it in ~2 weeks.

That would be frightening.

I hope your rig is okay, mate. :(

Blown hose/joint/fitting who the f**k knows.

Also just got the news that my second favourite forum is being shut down, it feels like sh*t and makes me realise how vulnerable this place I love even more potentially is. Feeling very emotional right now, I'm just going to try calming down for a while before I do something to make my day even worse.

*Don't be expecting the best of Jimbo over the next week or so.
